Massanutten, May 16TH, 2009: With 60 competitors competing in 12 divisions in 95 spaces in both Flowboarding and Bodyboarding, the second Annual AA Rated “Flow for Dough” event provided all the bells and whistles once again. With $ 2500.00 in cash split in the two Expert divisions and over $ 4000.00 in additional prizes and awards the Massanutten stop has proven to be a perennial favorite and always attracts the top talent.

The Bodyboarders dugout was packed with 60 riders competing in 7 divisions. Locals claimed top honors in 5 of 7 divisions, with victories going to Kaitlyn Dean in the Female, Phillip Sowers in the Youth, Andrew Shelton in Juniors, Stephen Smith in Men’s and Aaron Furman in Masters. In the largest division of the event, Matt Griffin of GA earned an impressive victory in Drop Knee by narrowly defeating local and crowd favorite Curtis Lam.

The Expert BB finals featured riders from four different states all with original unique styles throwing down ridicules patented maneuvers respectively that could have landed any of them in the Winners circle. In the end, Nick Nguyen stood alone on the podium hoisting his $ 600.00 dollar prize check, Matt Griffin pocketed $ 300.00 for second, while Christian Cook earned $ 200.00 for third and Curtis Lam claimed $ 150.00 for fourth.

The Stand up Flowboarders had a strong showing with 35 riders competing in 5 divisions. Top honors going to local Phillip Sowers in Youth and Christian Cook in the Juniors with solid multiple 360 shuvits. The Men’s division was as competitive and it was diverse, In another close Final and with each rider traveling from and representing a different State, Nick Nguyen of TX earned the victory over James O’Brien of NJ, Ryan Lee of AL finished third and Andy Haase of IL finished fourth.

Sean Silveira served notice in the Expert Flowboard Final that he is not planning on relinquishing his 2008 title by decisively and unanimously claiming the $ 600.00 1st place prize check. Waterville champ Branden Fenske came in a strong second earning $ 300.00, Cody Morrow securing another third and $200.00 with Iron Man Curtis Lam earning $150.00 in fourth.

The Nationally attended “Flow for Dough” event on the 2009 Wave Loch Tour hosted riders from 10 states while making tour History. Veteran BB Nick Nguyen earned Victories in both Expert BB and Men’s FB. While original Bodyboarder Curtis Lam goes in the books as one of the most versatile riders on tour making Drop Knee, Expert Bodyboard and Expert Flowboard Finals all in same event.

It was also announced that Wave Loch, in conjunction with Wave House, will present the 2009 Expert Tour Champions with an all expenses paid trip to the Grand Opening of Wave House at Singapore in October 2009, site of the World FLOW games. The next stop on the 16 event Wave Loch FLOW Tour is May 30th at Raging Waters, CA. It’s an A ratedevent with a $1,000 Expert Purse to be split in the Expert divisions. Hope to see you there.

Special thanks to Dana Staniunas and Mak Koebig of Massanutten resort, the judges, sponsors and Joe Warrington
