Waterville USA in Gulf Shores, AL, is hosting the 2010 Wave Loch Flow Tour open. The 2009 open at Waterville USA attracted riders from all over the country to compete for their chance to compete in the International Flow Championships (IFC) which was held at the newly opened Wave House.

The 2010 US Flow Tour is set to kick off soon and is shaping up to be the lrgest of the series to date. As the biggest national flowboard tour in the world, the US tour sets the standard in every way. From the number of competitors and tour stops to the cash and prizes up for grabs, nothing in flowboarding is bigger than this. Single A rated events will be giving out $1000 in cash in the Expert divisions while Double A events will be shelling out $2500. The nationals will be for even more. In total, over $25000 in cash and prizes will be awarded over the length of the tour. We'll be running regular updates on the tour rankings and reports from the tour stops here. One of last year's champions Sean Silveira will be under pressure to defend his title but he's not stressed, rather looking forward to the coming contest schedule. "I 'm looking to hit up all the AA's this year! I'm looking most forward to the Virginia, Utah, Waterville and Wave House!" Suffering a badly broken ankle shortly after the IFC last year has hampered Sean's chances of practicing and locking in any new tricks, but with lots of rehab and physio he's confident he's back to 100%. "I've been doing a lot of physical therapy and I'm ready for the tour!" He told us earlier this week. "I haven't really been working on anything new because of the setback i had this year. My biggest threat would have to be evry competitor on the tour because of my lack of riding but I definitely don't want them to underestimate me. I hope that this year we all have a fun time doing what we love to do and meet a lot of people." With Sean leaving a potential opening for someone else to take an early lead in the tour competition will be fierce as the best in the country scrap for every point they can get. We may all be friends but there's only room for one champion at the top. |
